The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of extraoral and intraoral low-level laser therapies (LLLT) on postoperative trismus and oedema following the removal of mandibular third molars. Forty-eight patients who were to undergo surgical removal of their lower third molars were studied. Patients were randomly allocated to one … Continue reading

Industry sponsors wanted for ASP meeting Rochester NY Aug 7&8
Industry sponsors wanted
See conference announcement link below
$1,000 gets you:
* A mention in the program
* Link from the ASP web site which will be good for your Google ranking
* 5 guests for the event
* but no booths
At the moment it is just Photothera and THOR (so far as I know)
I think that the ASP could turn out to be a very influential group for LLLT

Abstract Background Data and Objective: There is anecdotal evidence that low-level laser therapy (LLLT) may affect the development of muscular fatigue, minor muscle damage, and recovery after heavy exercises. Although manufacturers claim that cluster probes (LEDT) maybe more effective than single-diode lasers in clinical settings, there is a lack of head-to-head comparisons in controlled trials. This study was designed to compare the effect of single-diode LLLT and cluster LEDT before heavy exercise. Materials and Methods: This was a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind cross-over study. Young male volleyball players (n = 8) were enrolled and asked … Continue reading

Dear Colleagues
Next January 2010 in San Francisco we will have the fifth annual conference on “Mechanisms for low light therapy V”. We have had four successful conferences when SPIE Photonics West was in San Jose, and now we move to San Francisco that should further increase attendance
I am therefore pleased to be able to invite you to submit an abstract (Deadline 13 July 2009) and a conference proceedings paper (Deadline 16 Dec 2009) to “Mechanisms for low light therapy V” Conference BO108 Part of SPIE’s International Symposium on Biomedical Optics (BiOS) 23 – 28 January 2010 at the Moscone Convention Center, San Francisco, California, USA.
